Recapping my Exit

I entered day two of the Main Event severely short stacked, so my plan was to find two reasonable cards and jam my chips in and hope for the best. I did this several times without getting called (including on the first hand of the day with 99). This was fine with me, because by this point the blinds and antes were big enough to really help my situation.

About four or five hours into the day a loose player open raised on the button and I looked down at KJs. I felt I had the best hand so I went all in. He thought for awhile and finally called with 86s. Runner runner straight ended my tournament.

Overall I have to feel happy with my trip, but getting knocked out of a tournament that large is a very strange feeling. I just wanted to keep playing!

I rescheduled my flight to come home the next day and rested for awhile then walked down to see what was happening in the room. As I walked down the hall I passed Chris Kealy, who had been at my table the night before as well as during day two. He was heading to dinner and invited me to join him and his wife. Chris ended up finishing 71st.

After returning home I proceeded to get sick for over a week, which is part of why this post is so delayed.
